In Britain, where I am writing this message, Winter has passed and Spring is here and today is Easter Day. A day of hope for Christians all around the world as they celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. For those of alternate Faith or no faith at all, hope is to be found in different ways. A world without hope would be too depressing; aspiration and inspiration would be stifled because ultimately humans cannot thrive under negativity or relentless criticism. Our world is surrounded by peril , severe challenge and the rising of armies. Now more than ever we need to hear afresh the words, ‘My peace I give you, my peace I leave with you.’ I would have preferred to show a religious image in this post but have decided on the simple image of a single daffodil. An image of fragility, colour and vulnerability but also of strength through resilience, continuity and just because its beauty cannot be denied.
Nick and I wish you all a very Happy Easter wherever you are, may you find peace and contentment in your lives, and may you find the strength and courage to work for peace wherever you are! Alleluia!
