Neville Jacob included this poem on the previous ‘incarnation’ of ‘The American Beagle’, so I took the liberty of recovering the verses and added some related photographs.
I hope you enjoy!

Amtrak Journey
Neville Jacob – April 2017
Whiskey – late afternoon sun
Low mountains with shadows falling
Across the desert landscape.
Train rumbling, jolting, 2,000 miles
Nearing my destination
Anxiety, uncertainty,
Clair de Lune, whiskey,
Warm, day-rich sunlight
Glowing and lighting up my carriage.
Light falls, raybeams and shadows,
And a long, long, journey …… nearly done.

Cheers, nca (on behalf of Mr. Neville Jacob)
