Last week I took part in my second Airline ‘Jet pull‘ activity along with teammates from work. The idea is for teams across the airline to assemble for participation. A Jet pull involves teams whom are timed as they physically pull a jet a set distance. Teams of 20 participants race to pull the aircraft. For 2024 the event benefited the American Airlines Family Fund.
This fund supports team members in immediate financial need. The Family Fund relies primarily on individual donations and supports response efforts for natural disasters and personal hardships.
I have uploaded a video with the sights and sounds of this event!
In 2012 – I took part in a similar Jet Pull for US Airways, the previous ‘iteration of my employer.

12 Years later, I was thrilled to have participated again. Just as it was before, there is something special about teammates ‘pulling together’ to accomplish a set goal. As before, our team ‘time’ was nothing to brag about. As an ‘IT’ group, we may not be the buffest of specimens. No matter, we all enjoyed every minute of the experience!

As my Airline career comes to a conclusion, I am savoring each and every ‘final’ experience . This has been one crazy and eventful 32 year ride. Where else would y’all expect a hitch-hiking bum like myself to find a career worthy of my vagabond soul. The 2024 Jet pull was one of many thrills that I took part in through my employment. I will look back fondly on this experience.
Cheers, nca
